We met over dough, and honestly? It was love at first knead.

One workshop, flour everywhere, and suddenly we're talking like we've known each other forever. Bread. Baking. Palestine. The way a good meal can make strangers feel like family. We couldn't stop talking—turns out when you find someone who gets it, who really gets it, the conversation just flows.

Here's the thing about us: we're different in the best way. One of us brings the fire and ten ideas a minute. The other brings the calm, the balance, the "okay but let's actually make this happen" energy. We complement each other like za'atar and olive oil, like sweet and savory, like... well, like really good bread and basically everything. We both have this deep, serious love for food and hospitality.

Not the Instagram kind—the real kind. The kind where you want people at your table, where you believe breaking bread together actually matters, where cooking is how you show love and honor your roots.

So we decided: why keep this magic to ourselves? Let's open our table. Let's cook together, bake together, and invite people into this space where food is more than food—it's connection, culture, home.

That's us. That's what we're building. Two women who clicked over flour-dusted hands and decided to create something beautiful together.

BASMAs & GRAZIAs STORY

Welcome to our table!

About Basma:

I’m Palestinian, born in Jordan, raised in Austria, lived and worked over 10 years abroad, in London, Zagreb, Frankfurt and currently calling Zurich my home. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to collect all those life experiences as I like to see them as an essential part of my "home coming”.

It´s the past years that have sparked my culinary journey back to my cultural origins. Looking back on my younger teens, there were a lot of mixed experiences and emotions I had to deal with. As every teenager, all you want is just to fit in and to not be any different from anyone else.

Funny how life plays out - Now here I am, sharing the cultural richness of the world of foods to the table.

Since a young age, I have found pleasure in cooking and have continued this passion and spoiled my little family to this day, every day. Since I have had my child; food has become an even more important aspect of my life, that is full of conscious choices to not only nurture but to integrate also a variety of aspects like 100% natural ingredients, seasonal vegetables, farm-to-table, sustainable local food sourcing and supporting local farmers, micro businesses & manufacturers.

I was asked what my core-belief is related to food:

“With every intentional choice available at our hands
We have to ability to change the world"

About Grazia:

Born in Southern Italy, I'm a Mediterranean soul who shares her passion for sourdough baking through workshops and classes at "Grazia's Baking." I guide people to start their sourdough journey using their own bare senses.

Some may know me from my shift toward cultivating "slow food" following my maternity journey—a change from my previous chapter of corporate, high-octane life in Dubai. This leap of faith led me down a beautiful, winding road that I truly enjoy, and I haven't looked back for a single minute.

Through my passion for baking, I get to meet people from all over the world. Every workshop brings different faces, yet I greet each one with the same enthusiasm I had when I started—grateful every day to share my passion and knowledge while continuing to learn, one loaf at a time.
